WhyFlu 2007

This year, there has been a recent outburst of the new WhyFlu- known as WhyFlu 2007. At this stage, it has been around for a short amount of time. The CDC has been opened and re-vamped to help better deal with what is predicted to be the new epidemic. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has been around before though for previous outbreaks, but now we have a new issue- The new WhyFlu. When the CDC had first been re-vamped, there were 3 cases you could study. There was also a BBS-like discussion area when citizens could postulate and also report their cases. This was helpful in gathering information. Also, the CDC has and epidemic and infection simualtor, when you can test settings to see how many people would be affected and so forth. These tools all help you gather information. For what you say? Well, on previous WhyFlu updates, there was a salary game. It was for the epidemic for WhyPox, but this year we have WhyFlu as the epidemic. Are we going to have a salary game? What is it like? I think that Whyville should implement a new salary game for this. That way, it will help you learn more about Flus and also apply what the Infection Simualtor and Epidemic Simualtor teach you. Now, no one plays these because there is no reward, nothing to apply it too. If we added a salary game, people would pay attention and start putting more time and effort into learning about flus and how they spread, how iit can become an epidemic, etc. I think that Whyville should begin on focusing on adding more incentives to play certain games. I play games whenever I can, and I like trying out the simualtor too. It is fun, yet even if I guess everything correctly, there is not reward. I think this should change and that will attract more people to these games. xoxo LaDiDah
